Release date

The Steam store page lists 22 October 2026 and still shows the game as coming soon [S1]. Three dated posts give the same day:

  • Gematsu, 21 May 2026, in an article titled "Red Chat Ritual: TSUMIMI TIME launches October 22" [S6].
  • Tohakusha Inc., 14 September 2026: Red Chat Ritual "launches on Steam on October 22, 2026" [S2].
  • Tohakusha Inc., 19 September 2026: "See you in the new demo at the end of September — and in the full game on October 22!" [S10].

Price

Tohakusha Inc. wrote on 14 September 2026: "The standard price in Japan will be ¥1,980." [S2] The same post says "Pricing for the United States, China, and other regions is currently being finalized" and promises to share the final regional prices through the Steam Store and Steam News [S2].

Open point: the Price field in the store data read on 21 October 2026 is empty [S1], so no price outside Japan was available in the sources used here. Check the Steam store page for your region.

The demo costs nothing. On 28 September 2026, Tohakusha Inc. wrote that the Final Demo could be played starting that day and that it "is free to play from the Steam store page" [S3]. The store page adds: "Save data from the demo cannot be carried over to the full game." [S1] For what the demo covers, see how to play.

Other routes to a key.

  • Kickstarter: on 7 August 2026 Tohakusha Inc. announced a Global Edition campaign for Red Chat Ritual, and said that, depending on the tier, backer rewards include "A Steam release key for the full game" [S4]. Its post of 19 August 2026 said "Our Kickstarter campaign is also still ongoing!" [S5]. The status after that date was not read for this page.
  • Creator keys: a Game.Press campaign listing says creators who publish an eligible video or livestream featuring the Final Demo will receive a Steam key for the full version when the game launches on 22 October 2026 [S7]. It adds that "joining or requesting the campaign alone does not qualify for the reward" [S7].

Platforms and system requirements

The release is on Steam [S2]. The minimum requirements on the store page are:

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit [S1]
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-6100 / AMD Ryzen 3 1200 [S1]
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM [S1]
  • Graphics: Intel UHD Graphics 620 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 Ti / AMD Radeon R7 260X [S1]
  • DirectX: Version 11 [S1]
  • Storage: 4 GB available space [S1]

The recommended block in the store data holds one line, the 64-bit processor and operating system requirement [S1]. The store says the game "does not rely on demanding 3D graphics processing" [S1].

Open point: Steam Deck and Apple support. Missjackrabbit asked on 16 June 2026 whether the game would work on Steam Deck [S8]. Zacoras replied on 17 July 2026 that they hoped it would run on other handhelds and smartphones [S8]. thatswanclove asked on 1 October 2026 about an Apple version [S9]. None of these threads holds a reply from Tohakusha Inc., and the Steam announcements read for this page name no Mac, Linux, console or Steam Deck version.

Languages

The Steam store lists English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese and Japanese [S1]. CIRCLE LINE GAMES is named as publisher for Chinese regions [S1].

A Russian translation is a fan project, not a store language. tetra posted on 20 October 2026 that a fan Russian translation of the demo from Gaming Plus replaces the English setting, and that a translation of the full game would follow within a few days after the 22 October release [S11].

How long it takes

The store page gives two figures [S1]:

  • First playthrough: approximately 4 hours.
  • Total playtime: approximately 8–9 hours, described as the estimated time to experience multiple endings.

It also warns: "When seeking multiple endings, you may need to replay scenes shared across different routes." [S1]

Older third-party copy gives smaller figures. Gematsu's article of 21 May 2026 says "Around three hours per playthrough" and total playtime "approximately four to five hours" [S6]. The Game.Press listing (it mentions the Final Demo) says about 3 hours per playthrough and around 4 to 5 hours in total [S7]. These figures disagree with the store page, so the store's numbers are the ones to plan around [S1].

The story length in days differs as well. The store calls it a "15-day psychological horror adventure" [S1], while the Game.Press listing says "14-day psychological horror adventure" [S7].
