Short answer. Red Chat Ritual runs on a day-and-night loop. By day you search social media, fan sites, maps and search results; by night you watch Tsumimi's stream and intervene with comments, Mega Chats and gifts, paid for from limited funds [S1]. The store page describes a 15-day story with multiple endings [S1]. The Final Demo, released on 28 September 2026, lets you play through part of DAY7 [S3].

The loop in four steps

The store page calls the game "a day-and-night cycle of stream intervention, investigation, and deduction" [S1]. You play a viewer of streamer Tsumimi, whose former partner Mashiro is missing [S1]. Tohakusha Inc. wrote on 25 June 2026 that the game "is not a passive viewing experience" [S2]. Who the characters are is covered on the characters page.

Investigate by day

The store text says that by day you "investigate strange details through social media, fan sites, maps, and search results" [S1]. Yōkoso Otaku (video of 14 October 2026) describes a repeating loop with "two slots in the day": you can work or investigate, and search terms you find while reading can be looked up with a slot at [2:35] [S8]. Ehlly (2 July 2026, on the June demo) wrote that "every search" takes "a whole period" [S10].

Players describe the day as short. Twiins iink (video of 28 September 2026, on an early build the developers supplied) found the investigation sections between streams quick, and said you "scroll to the bottom of the page to read new messages each day" on the fan site at [4:00] and [4:10] [S9].

Earn and spend funds

The store page asks how you will "use your limited funds" [S1]. Yōkoso Otaku says a work slot earns money that pays for Mega Chats and for physical gifts to Tsumimi at [2:35] [S8]. Twiins iink says the money pays for donations during the night stream at [0:54] [S9]. Ehlly (2 July 2026) wrote that the game expects part-time jobs for money [S10].

Intervene in the night stream

The store page says: "use comments, Mega Chats, and gifts to change the story" [S1]. A 14 September 2026 Tohakusha announcement adds: "Send a comment. Send a gift. Ask Tsumimi about something that caught your attention." [S4] It says the way you intervene "can change her reactions and actions" [S4].

Mega Chats. Twiins iink says donations are how you make sure Tsumimi reads your chat message, and that messages can push Tsumimi to look into the mystery or advise Tsumimi to avoid danger at [0:54] and [1:04] [S9]. Yōkoso Otaku says of chat donations: "that's how you get your chat read" at [1:17] [S8]. An official report of 10 October 2026 says "a Mega Chat sent during the Stream triggers the appearance of a mysterious search term" [S6]. The follow-up report of 12 October 2026 names the term "Old Tunnel" [S7]. Neither report says whether that scene is in the demo. The series itself is on the incident reports page.

Gifts. Twiins iink bought a charger and said it "felt irrelevant" at [7:41] [S9]. They left out shoes for Tsumimi and saw no consequence when the shoes got muddy at [7:53] [S9].

Do these choices change anything? Players in the demo thread were not convinced:

  • sowbtsoqx (16 June 2026) wrote that, as far as they knew, the other Mega Chats did nothing except "adding 3 sentences of flavor text", and that the biggest ones cost "5000 yen" [S10].
  • Ehlly (2 July 2026) wrote that most Mega Chats just add flavor text and that the choices seemed to matter little in the demo [S10].
  • Yōkoso Otaku said it "was just a little bit of flavor text" in their play at [1:39] [S8].

Tohakusha wrote on 25 June 2026 that, from DAY6 onward, comments, Mega Chats, gifts, investigations and deductions "will begin to affect the route more clearly" [S2]. It listed "the feeling that your actions are changing what happens next" as something it was strengthening after demo feedback [S2].

Make your deductions

The store page lists "Connect the clues, make your deductions, and uncover the hidden truth" among its main actions [S1]. Twiins iink describes the end of each in-game week as a point where you collect evidence and fill in blanks: "Filling the blanks incorrectly nets you a bad end" at [4:52] [S9]. They add that one blank had no option that fit grammatically, which left them guessing at [5:03] [S9].

The official 25 June 2026 post says the demo takes you to "the first major deduction point" [S2]. The store page says deductions, interventions, investigations and choices "shape Tsumimi's stream and determine how the story ends" [S1].

On 14 September 2026 Tohakusha wrote that the Final Demo "still shows only a small part of the story" [S4]. Seira Wynn (video of 13 August 2026) called the demo "maximum 14 days of the game" at [7:19] [S14]. That differs from Tohakusha's own description above, which is the one to use.

Reported demo problems

  • A stuck stream: sowbtsoqx (16 June 2026) reported that the game "softlocks you" if you do not point out the newspaper in the last stream [S10]. Shino Ataya (28 August 2026) described the same missing-newspaper bug and about 10 minutes stuck checking investigations [S11].
  • ViperRacingGT2007 (5 October 2026) wrote "there is a bug" at the puzzle [S13].
  • Game overs: MaoKittyMaoMao (19 October 2026) asked for a way to skip scenes, writing "I've gotten game overs after a stream" [S12]. Twiins iink made the same request at [5:13] [S9].
  • First-time players: RoxanneRoxy (30 June 2026) wrote "theres no tutorial but the control is really simple" [S13].

For the release date, price and whether demo saves carry over, see release date and price. The theme song is on the theme song page. Tohakusha recommends headphones or earbuds because of the close environmental audio [S1].
